MEET OLIVIA STEWART
A considered approach to landscape design, rooted in horticulture and shaped by international experience.
My approach to garden design brings together a lifelong interest in plants, a landscape architect's understanding of space and a deep appreciation of the relationship between buildings and their surroundings.
I began my career in horticulture before training in residential landscape architecture. After receiving a Silver-Gilt medal at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show, I spent much of my professional career in Switzerland, working with established landscape design practices on a wide range of projects.
In more recent years, I co-directed SNDesign Ltd with my friend Sarah Naybour (www.sarahnaybourcc.co.uk), collaborating on substantial, high-end landscape projects. Following the company's dissolution, we continue to pursue their own practices while maintaining a collaborative relationship.
Today, I work collaboratively with clients, architects, craftspeople and specialist contractors to create gardens that feel intrinsic to their setting. My aim is to combine clear design thinking and careful attention to detail with planting that brings each space to life.
I believe a successful garden should be beautiful and functional, but also feel as though it belongs exactly where it is evolving with the seasons and becoming more rewarding over time.
Olivia Stewart Design brings together this breadth of experience with a personal, considered approach to creating distinctive gardens that respond to their setting and evolve beautifully over time.
